Daily Deviation

Given 2009-04-17
Part of a larger work that can be found in Morgan's gallery, Bed by `Zenhead gives us an insight within hospitals and the state of a human being. The whole bedroom seems calm and soft, with its white tonalities and all the light that just seems to pull you in...

This is deeply saddening, the poor dear barely makes a dent in the covers she lies beneath.
The pale white and metal bars makes me very uneasy. Great peice. :D

I would favorite this but I don't think I can... Because... It is WAY to much like what happen3d with my dad... only he was younger... It breaks my heart to much to keep it in view...
I don't think I can look at t his picture anymore. But it IS an amazing piece of work. I feel for this patient, and their family.

i just finished my first clinical rotation and it was pretty much what you see in this picture, but i have to say, the only thing that is different is that there is love in this picture. you captured that. where i work there is not really signs of that in the room, some patients' families do not even know their relatives are there and it is rather sad and it angering. so as nurse-in-progress i am learning that i have to be there for my patient. this picture is beautiful. its human, dark and peaceful at the same time. i feel for the patient in the picture but can rest assure that she is loved because of the articles in her room.

you work where i haven't photographed yet... so far with this project I have only seen aged care with very good facilities, and fortunate residents.

i'm still waiting to get more access to keep shooting more images, for a more balanced view on the subject. there are some horrible stories, as you say.

I've seen this setting before, I used to be a CNA at a nursing home, although it looks much more calm and clean than I've ever experienced. The room looks like it's much nicer than some of the places I've worked.

This is an emotional piece for me, she doesn't look a bit like my Nana (either of them), my husbands Grandma, or Pops, but I have seen all four of those strong people like this, in a big white room, looking weak, although they are loved, with gifts and flowers, they are alone, and helpless.
I love it, the composition, the emotion, the lighting.
Thumbs up for the daily dev.

To get the image more attention! Hopefully it moves someone.

I couldn't care less for the dd, I know some people on deviantart live for such things, but for me it's about getting the image some good airtime.

This image does remind me of a loved one who passed away a coupe years back.
...And whenever I remember her,
I always think that,
I never realized what I truly had, until I lost her.
And seeing this image does bring that back to me.
So I've learned to always appreciate what and who I have, and make everyday count.

This made me kinda flinch when I noticed who was inside the bed.
My grandfather is in rehab and everyday I go to visit him I pass by those filled beds with people just as frail as her.

Very powerful.

make sure you get a photo of him. if you do one thing before he passes away, do it - for him, you and your family.

it's so crucial to have an image... a record of that life, at the end. it's going to seem invasive at first, but you will not realise until he's gone how important it is.

my great grandfater was 103, I have a silly cellphone photo of his last room because i didnt have the gear back then to make a photo unobtrusively.

i have a photo of him in his armchair which is not the best photo ever by any means, but... it's fucking important.

best wishes

the picture looks very simple, just a screenshot of whats happening, yet it has a powerful pull, almost making you feel intense, and uncomfortable, i love this :D the dim lighting of this picture brings oiurt the life from the teddy bear, the flowers, and the blue from the basket :D

This a glorious shot, it really shows emotion in an artistic way. I really like the mirror in the right side, and the flowers and the blue cloth really pull for the few colors needed. Very well done, absolutely amazing and well worth the DD. ^.^

It really did affect me, made me notice once more about how short life really is.
